Entering world science

Starting from October 2020, the Journal of “Almaz – Antey” Air and Space Defence Corporation has been translated into English. The English version is available on the Journal website http://journal. almaz-antey.ru. The translated archive issues, starting from 2015, will be available before the end of 2021. I believe it will increase the exposure of our authors’ studies in the international scientific community. It should be noted that we can already see the first results. For instance, Figure 1 shows the growth of foreign traffic on the Journal website starting from the publication of its first issue in English.

As the curve demonstrates, the period from September to January 2021 saw more than twofold traffic growth, despite the fact that only 8 issues out of 23 were translated at the time of writing this.

The translated versions of articles have already been indexed in English search engines, such as Google and Yahoo. Notably, from the curve in Figure 1 it is obvious that the search traffic comprises two-thirds of the total traffic; © Bolshakov D. Yu., 2021 in other words, people search for information on our authors’ articles in the search engines, finding it on the Journal website.

A diagram in Figure 2 is drawn up to analyse the age distribution of our foreign readers.

It stands to mention that the age distribution of our Russian readers is more or less the same as that shown in Figure 2. Thus, almost 70 % of the website visitors are older than 25.

The countries that access the Journal website are consolidated in a word cloud in Figure 3 as well as at the top of this article on the map of the world.

As Figure 3 demonstrates, the geography of our readers spans the whole Western and Eastern Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania.
